\n Ischemic cardiomyopathy is a condition in which chronic myocardial ischemia leads to impaired cardiac function, left ventricular remodeling, and heart failure.\n<\/p>\n

What it is<\/h2>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
\n

\n Ischemic cardiomyopathy develops when coronary artery disease, such as angina or myocardial infarction,
\n reduces blood supply to the myocardium. Over time, this results in impaired contractility,
\n left ventricular dilation, and progressive heart failure.\n <\/p>\n

\n While historically more prevalent in Western countries, the number of affected patients is increasing in Japan.\n <\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

Symptoms and diagnosis<\/h2>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
\n

\n Common symptoms include shortness of breath, reduced exercise tolerance, and other signs of heart failure.
\n Ventricular arrhythmias may also occur.\n <\/p>\n

\n Diagnosis is based on echocardiography, cardiac CT, and assessment of coronary artery disease.\n <\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
