Cardiovascular Center

About Us

Your Cardiovascular Surgery Experts.

Our Cardiovascular Surgery Department offers comprehensive care for all your heart and blood vessel needs. We treat conditions affecting the coronary arteries, heart valves, the aorta, and even peripheral vessels (arteries and veins outside the heart).
Our team is also skilled in minimally invasive treatments using stent grafts. This allows us to combine different approaches and tailor the best treatment plan for each patient.

Meet Our Team

We are committed to providing you with 24/7 care, 365 days a year, never refusing any patient, no matter the severity of their condition or the type of scheduled surgery.
Cardiovascular issues can be serious, and sometimes sudden cardiac events or death between diagnosis and treatment. That’s why we aim to start treatment within a week whenever possible.
Additionally, we welcome second opinions – just contact us first to schedule

Our Services

Coronary Artery Disease Coronary artery disease (CAD) includes conditions like angina (chest pain) and heart attacks.

Treatment Options

We offer coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) to treat blocked coronary arteries caused by a buildup of plaque (atherosclerosis). This surgery creates a detour for blood flow using healthy vessels from your chest or leg.

Surgical Techniques

There are discussions about using arteries versus veins for bypass grafts, and off-pump surgery (OPCAB) where the heart-lung machine isn’t used. Based on research and our experience, we generally recommend arterial grafts for younger patients for better long-term results. OPCAB may be an option for complex cases or older patients. We will discuss the best approach for your individual situation.

Heart Valve Disease Heart valve disease is a general term for conditions where the heart valves’ functions are impaired for various reasons.

Treatment Options

For mitral and tricuspid valve problems, we often perform valve repair surgery whenever possible. This preserves your own valve, which can last a long time and eliminates the need for blood thinners like warfarin. Repair generally leads to a quicker recovery compared to valve replacement. Depending on your condition, minimally invasive surgery may also be an option.

Surgical Techniques

For aortic valve disease or mitral stenosis, valve replacement is the main treatment. For these conditions, MICS may also be possible depending on the extent of atherosclerosis. Additionally, for the common condition of aortic valve stenosis, transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) is an option.

Choosing the Right Valve

Artificial valves come in mechanical and biological varieties. Mechanical valves have a long lifespan but require lifelong use of warfarin. Biological valves have a limited lifespan but do not require warfarin. Recently, with the extended lifespan of biological valves and the advent of catheter-based valve-in-valve replacement (TAVI in SAV), the choice of biological valves has become more common.

Patient-Centered Approach

In any case, the decision on the best surgical approach depends on your age, lifestyle, and overall health. We will work closely with you to determine the most suitable treatment plan.

Aortic Aneurysm – Aortic Disease An aortic aneurysm is a bulge or swelling in the wall of the aorta, the largest blood vessel in the body.

Treatment Options

1. Open Surgery: Artificial Blood Vessel Replacement Surgery

This surgery involves opening your chest or abdomen and replacing the weak section with a synthetic tube. It’s a bigger surgery, but it works for any aneurysm.

2. Stent Graft Insertion

This is a minimally invasive procedure where a thin tube with a mesh sleeve is inserted through a groin incision. The sleeve reinforces the weak spot from the inside. It’s not suitable for all aneurysms, but it’s less demanding on the body.

Patient-Centered Approach

Stent graft treatment is suitable for some aneurysms depending on their shape and location. The choice of treatment depends on the patient’s ability to withstand surgery and the specific characteristics of the aneurysm.

Our team has extensive experience with both procedures, allowing us to provide well-informed treatment recommendations based on clinical experience.

Aortic Dissection – Aortic Disease This is like a tear in the aorta’s wall. Some dissections require immediate surgery.

Treatment Options

We provide emergency surgery for Type A acute aortic dissection 24 hours a day. In cases of Type B acute aortic dissection, emergency surgery may also be required for cases involving perfusion abnormalities.

Surgical Techniques

Our hospital is prepared to perform all emergency surgeries immediately, with a high number of cases and stable treatment outcomes. Additionally, we proactively perform stent graft treatments during the subacute phase to prevent the progression to chronic dissecting aortic aneurysms. We also ensure ongoing outpatient follow-up for long-term stable treatment.

Peripheral Artery Disease Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD) is a condition where the arteries that supply blood to the legs, become narrowed or blocked due to a buildup of fatty deposits (plaque).

Occlusive Arteriosclerosis

We collaborate with the Department of Cardiology to provide a combination of endovascular catheter treatments, surgical vascular procedures, and bypass surgeries.

Comprehensive Care for Severe Ischemic Limbs

For severe ischemic limbs with ulcers, we offer comprehensive treatment, including below-knee bypasses and ulcer management. The advantage of having the same team handle these treatments is that we can simultaneously address heart and aortic conditions and develop a unified treatment plan.

Arterial Thrombosis

We provide 24-hour emergency surgery for arterial thrombosis.

Comprehensive Treatment for Complicated Cases

There is an increasing number of cases involving complications with occlusive arteriosclerosis. We work closely with the Department of Cardiology around the clock to offer comprehensive treatments, including emergency bypass surgeries.

Other Conditions Our hospital is equipped to treat all these conditions, including emergency cases.

Heart Attack Complications and Weak Heart Muscles

Complications of Myocardial Infarction and Ischemic Cardiomyopathy We treat complications that can occur after a heart attack and conditions where the heart muscles become weak.

Myocardial infarction complication

1:Left ventricular rupture

We provide treatment for when the wall of the heart tears or ruptures.

2:Left ventricular aneurysm

We treat bulges that form in the heart wall after a heart attack.

3:Ventricular Septal Rupture

We provide care for holes that can develop in the heart wall.

4:Valve Muscle Failure (Mitral Valve Problems)

We treat problems where the muscles that help the heart valves work properly fail, causing valve issues.

Heart Infections

We provide treatment for infections that affect the inner lining of the heart.

Heart Tumors

We treat tumors that form inside the heart.

Patient-Centered Approach

For all these conditions, including emergency cases, we offer safe and effective treatments based on our extensive experience.
