Coronary Artery Disease

What we do
Coronary artery bypass surgery (CABG)

Our focus
Patient-specific surgical planning

How we decide
Age, overall condition, and comorbidities

At our Cardiovascular Center, we perform coronary artery bypass surgery based on each patient’s condition, age, and overall health, guided by clinical experience and established evidence.

What it is

Coronary artery disease occurs when plaque buildup (atherosclerosis) narrows the coronary arteries, reducing blood flow to the heart muscle and potentially leading to ischemia.

Our treatment

For patients with advanced coronary artery disease, we perform coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG).

Grafts are selected based on each patient’s condition and may include the internal thoracic artery, radial artery, and saphenous vein.

How we individualize surgery

  • Younger patients:
Arterial grafts are used preferentially to improve long-term durability.
  • Elderly patients or those with comorbidities:
Off-pump coronary artery bypass (OPCAB) may be used to reduce surgical stress.

Appointment

Appointments are required in principle. A referral letter from another medical institution is recommended but not mandatory.

For appointment requests and language support, please see the
Cardiovascular Center page.
