Children’s Patient Rights

To help you get better, it is important for you, your family, and the hospital team—doctors and nurses—to work together.
This page explains your rights in a clear and child-friendly way.

Your Rights

  1. You will be respected and valued as a person.
  2. You can receive the treatment that is considered best for you.
  3. If there is anything you do not understand or if you feel worried, you can ask hospital staff at any time.
They will explain it to you in an easy-to-understand way—again and again if needed.
  4. After receiving enough explanation, you can share your thoughts and feelings with your family and hospital staff.
  5. If there are things you do not want others to know, you can tell your family and hospital staff so they can keep it private.

* These rights are based on the spirit of the Convention on the Rights of the Child.
