Not every symptom needs a hospital visit. For mild symptoms, a local clinic is faster, cheaper, and more appropriate. Please check the pages below to find the right place for your situation.

Please read each page carefully before coming. Not all conditions require a hospital visit.

First visit

Additional fee without a referral letter

At Kishiwada Tokushukai Hospital, all new patients and returning patients
with new symptoms are requested to bring a referral letter from another
medical institution.

If you do not have a referral letter, or if you forget to bring it,
an additional fee called
“Additional Fee for Patients Without a Referral” (Sentei Ryoyouhi)
will be charged at your first visit.

What to bring

  1. Photo ID – passport or Residence Card (Zairyu Card).
  2. Japanese National Health Insurance card (if you are enrolled).
  3. Payment by credit card or cash at the time of your visit.
  4. Referral letter (within the last 3 months), X-ray CD,
    or medication record, if available.
  5. To save time at reception, you can fill in the registration form
    before you come.


First visit – step by step

  1. Reception (8:00–11:30, Japan time)

    Please arrive at the reception desk between 8:00 and 11:30 (Japan time).

  2. Fill in the registration form

    If you have already completed the form, please hand it to the staff.
    If not, please fill it in at the desk near reception.

  3. Consultation

    You will see a doctor in the appropriate department.

  4. Tests and examinations (if needed)

    The doctor may order blood tests, X-rays, CT, MRI, or other tests.

  5. Diagnosis and explanation

    The doctor will explain your results and treatment plan.

  6. Payment

    Please pay your bill at the payment counter or machine.

  7. Receive medications

    You will receive your medicines at our pharmacy inside the hospital.


Returning patients

With an appointment (automatic reception)

  • From 8:00, you can use the Automatic Check-in Kiosk inside the hospital.
  • The kiosk screen is in Japanese only.
  • After registration, you will receive a Registration Number slip. Please go to the waiting area for your department.
  • If you need help or cannot use the machine, please ask at the Reception desk.

Without an appointment

  • Please go directly to the Reception desk.
  • The staff will register your visit and guide you to the correct department.

Monthly insurance card verification

If you have Japanese health insurance, please show your insurance card
at the Insurance Verification Desk once a month, at your first visit of
that month.

Hospital infection prevention

To protect patients and staff, please follow these rules:




Face masks

All patients and visitors must wear a face mask inside the hospital.
It should cover your nose and mouth and fit under your chin.




Hand hygiene

Wash your hands with soap and water after using the restroom,
and use the hand sanitizer dispensers placed in the corridors.




If you feel unwell

If you have fever, cough, diarrhoea, or nausea,
please postpone your visit if possible.

We may introduce additional measures such as mandatory masks
or visitor restrictions during outbreaks.
