How this department works

  1. 1

Come here when hospital-level surgical evaluation may be needed

General Surgery is intended for patients with injuries, wounds, or other surgical symptoms that may require hospital-based assessment.
This includes conditions that cannot be managed safely by simple home care or pharmacy treatment alone.

  2. 2

We assess the injury or surgical problem

Depending on your condition, the doctor may examine the wound or affected area and arrange tests such as imaging when necessary.
Initial wound treatment, infection assessment, and other surgical evaluation may be performed on the day of visit.

  3. 3

You may be referred if another department is more appropriate

After assessment, we may determine that another department is more suitable for your condition.
In such cases, you may be referred within the hospital or advised to continue care at a local clinic.

  4. 4

Minor problems should usually be managed outside the hospital

Minor cuts, mild bruises, simple muscle pain, minor skin irritation, and other low-severity problems are usually better managed with self-care,
pharmacy advice, or a local clinic rather than a hospital visit.

Before you visit

  • If the injury has already been seen at a local clinic, please bring any available records, medication list, or referral letter.
  • If the wound or injury is getting worse, information about previous treatment will help us assess your condition more quickly.
  • This department provides initial hospital assessment. You may be advised to continue follow-up at a local clinic if hospital-level care is not needed.
  • If you need language support, advance notice is recommended whenever possible.
